This training introduces you to the user interface and the core HVAC, electrical, and piping/plumbing components that make Autodesk Revit an exceptionally powerful and flexible engineering modeling tool. You'll gain hands-on experience with the tools needed to create, document, and print parametric models, guiding you through the entire process of an MEP project—from linking an architectural model to producing construction documents.

Part 1: Fundamentals of MEP Modeling (Chapters 1 to 12)

  • Starting an MEP Project: Begin your project by linking an architectural model, creating levels and grids as datum elements.

  • Revit Families and Components: Learn about Revit families and components crucial for MEP design.
  • Basic Sketching and Modifying Tools: Develop skills in basic sketching and modifying.

  • Creating Spaces: Analyze heating and cooling loads by creating spaces within your model.

Part 2: Documenting and Finalizing the MEP Model (Chapters 13 to 16)

  • Tags and Schedules: Add tags and manage schedules to keep your project organized.

Where is In-Person training held?

Our scheduled In-Person courses are held at our Cape Town training centre. Private and company-specific training can also be arranged at your organisation's premises where appropriate.

How does Live Online training work?

Live Online courses are instructor-led and delivered in real time. You'll be able to follow the course, interact with your instructor, ask questions and work through the training exercises remotely. Joining instructions are provided before the course.

What do I need to attend Live Online training?

To attend Live Online training, you will need:

  • Your own computer suitable for running the relevant Autodesk software
  • The required software installed before the course begins. If you do not already have access to the software, an Autodesk trial version may be available for download
  • A reliable internet connection
  • A headset or headphones so you can clearly hear the instructor
  • A microphone so you can communicate with the instructor, ask questions and participate during the course

We recommend checking that your software, audio and microphone are working before the course begins to avoid delays on the day.

What time does training take place?

Training times are confirmed for each scheduled course and provided as part of your booking information. If you have specific scheduling requirements, please contact us to discuss private or company-specific training.

Do I need my own computer and Autodesk software?

Requirements depend on the course and delivery format. For Live Online training, you will need your own suitable computer with the relevant Autodesk software installed. If you do not already have access to the software, an Autodesk trial can be used where available.

For In-Person training at one of our training centres, we provide the required computer hardware and software for you, so you do not need to bring your own equipment.

What is included with the course?

Your booking includes live instructor-led training and the applicable course content.

For In-Person training at one of our training centres, we also provide the required computer hardware and software for the duration of the course, as well as lunch, snacks, tea and coffee.

Will I receive a certificate after completing the course?

Where a certificate is included, the applicable certificate is shown under Course at a Glance. Depending on the course, this may be an Autodesk or Modena certificate.

Can you provide private training for my company or team?

Yes. We offer private and company-specific training for organisations that require dedicated sessions, alternative dates or training focused more closely on their particular requirements and workflows. Training can be delivered In-Person or Live Online, depending on your requirements.
